Topic – Developing a mobile phone app for sexual and reproductive health information
Summary – Currently there are no mobile phone applications (apps) for promoting understanding and information about sexual and reproductive health in Cambodia. Would Cambodians be interested in a health mobile phone app or game? We want to hear ideas from you!
In this English/Khmer interactive session we will present existing ways that mobile phone apps and websites related to sexual and reproductive health are being used in other countries. Then we will invite audience members to discuss whether you think a mobile phone application for sexual and reproductive health would be useful in Cambodia, and if so, what information and features you think should be included?
We will also outline the ways that MSIC is using technology to provide sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services in Cambodia through its Hotline, Facebook page and use of Interactive Voice Response (IVR) technology with the MOTIF (Mobile Technology for Improved Family Planning) project.
Mobile app developers, IT students as well as everyday mobile phone users and those interested in health promotion are strongly encouraged to join this session.
